I just posted about this on another board. I think we all remember 9/11/2001, and where we were that day, much as any of us old enough to remember the Kennedy & Martin Luther King assasinations.

One of the burn surgeons I worked with had just moved to NYC in January 2001, and though we hated to see him go, he certainly was there at a time to be useful I just saw this CNN transcript the other day, from the day one of the World Trade Center survivors was discharged, after having 77% burns. Palmer Q. Bessey (though he goes by Joe) , with WTC survivor Elaine Duch, going home from Cornell Weill.
