Like;

Interior Door trim
Front Aero Bumper (yet to see rear)
Light's pack; Though it's a gimmick that won't get used.
Comfort Access
's' Spoiler
Better mGP!! I mean mpg...sorry
errr.....That's it.

Hate;

Integrated stereo
Oversized speedo
Rear fog lamps on both models look awfull
Rear light clusters too big.
Oversized fog/sidelights,
Side repeater's and surrounds very ugly-worst bit IMO
Tacky use of 'wing' emblem everywhere.
Overdose of toggles: which customers will have to fork out £££'s for, in order to avoid blanks, Which Mini knows, and is exploiting.
Loss of supercharger; looses it's character IMO
Loss of clamshell bonnet, Disjointed Headlights.
Loss of wrap-around glass
Wiper area, and loss of honeycombe grilles. (pedestrian safety -I know)
No darkened glass option; That looked cool.
All the wheels; apart from web spokes, which aren't new anyway, Oh and the ones pictured on the yellow 's' @ the motorshow-That car looks nice, more rear view needed though.

Overall I think the R56 is okay; I don't think it's kept any of the charm,character, or design cues from the original MINI as the 'old' New MINI did.
It looks more ordinary, but saying all that If I had a choice; I would choose an R56 mini over any of the small hatchbacks on the market today, and i'm sure it won't dissapoint those who have ordered one

At the end of the day; Love it or hate it, the R56 will be around for the next 4/5 years and I really hope it grows on me.
