This is just an idea ..
You may have inadvertantly switched them off.
By that i mean if you press and hold the switch in the off postion when it is switched on / illuminated postion) for 3-6 seconds it will be switched off for good!
Same as if you want to switch it back on press and hold it 3-6 secs and it should give you a quick flash to show you it has done it.
Give it a go.
