Depends what you want from the car ???

If you want the best drive then get the S. If you love your gadgets and comforts and find your current Cooper fast enough then get the Cooper and save a few quid. Also consider the added ownership costs with the S of increased fuel and insurance costs.

Personally I don't think I would spend so much on options for the Cooper (over £3k) and would probably pick the S from your two scenarios.
