1) The original Garden had even more yellow than the current one. Maybe yellow paint was cheap back in old-timey days.

2) "The Hockey Song (The Good Old Hockey Game)" is by Stompin' Tom Connors.

The good old hockey game,
Is the best game you can name;
And the best game you can name,
Is the good old Hockey game!

3) The origins of the "Spoked B" logo are in the city of Boston's old nickname of "The Hub", a.k.a. "The Hub of the Universe". Hence the current promotional campaign "The Hub of Hockey".

4) It's a balance. You want a good D that will limit shots to a reasonable level, you don't want to get inundated and get worn down. But if the shots get too few and far between, you get cold and tight and your head gets out the game, you lose focus. So it's a double edged sword. It's a fine balance, I play goalie because I like to stop shots, if I'm not facing any shots then I'm bored. But if I'm getting hammered and my D is non-existent, that kinda loses it's fun as well.

Bonus round: The Garden pa announcer has been doing the "wooo!" after goal announcements for years now. I don't recall when/how it started....
