I thought 'major re-wiring' was required. As said previously, what about the Auto-Levelling function? Washers? ..etc..

You asked...

A. No, he is correct but bear in mind the point raised above re lamp washers and leveling

Q. I thought 'major re-wiring' was required. As said previously, what about the Auto-Levelling function? Washers? ..etc..

A. See above!

Thank's for claryfying that, I know the difference between Manual Height Adjustment (I have the switch in my car ) and Auto-Levelling; that's why I speciffically asked about 'auto leveling' as I thought this was a UK legal-requirement/possible MOT failure if spotted (xenon's of course).

But it seems you may have found a 'loophole' in the legislation!

"major-rewiring" were the word's of the dealer- not me, If it was just a case of un-plugging the old-units and replacing them with new ones i'm sure it would be a nice little money spinner for them, but so far no dealer want's to take this on (won't stop me asking again though ) ....so perhaps they know something we/you don't.......
(I was told they run on a different voltage to standard halogens etc; I just don't want them to damage the electrics or anything, or else i'll be deep in the.....)

Good Luck Though..............still looking forward to the pics.
