Just to let everyone know (who cares), got my car back today after 1 month at the body shop.
A delay in parts ordering was the culpret. Any locking mechanism will require proof of ownership to Mini and that was what did it. If you need a new door lock cylinder as a result of body damage give the body shop a copy of your DL at drop off or before so they can order the parts...........
