Service Indicator Help

Hello All

This is something I have been meaning to post for a couple of weeks now but have only just got around to it.

I bought my mini second hand (02 plate) in July, and the MINI had been covered on TLC. The book was stamped for the first oil service, inspection 1, and second oil service. However, when i rang mini to ask about the tlc extension they said "lets take a look at some details of your mini". So they loked on their system and said "oh, your car is only due for an oil service, not an inspection according to our system".

However, i just put this down to the guy being thick as the book was stamped to say it had had 2 oil services already and next service due (at roughly 60k) is the inspection2. So... i decided against the tlc and went iwth a very reputable local car engineer. Booked in my car with him as I knew it was due in a couple hundred miles. But when the service indicator actually got to zero and below, it showed up "oil service" not "inspection". I have had a full inspection2 service carried out as I know that thats what it was due for. Any reason why the indicator is wrong?

Its not a big problem, but it will really annoy me next time i am due for a service as it is going to say inspection when its only due for an oil service

Have BMW serviced it before i took ownership but not updated the information in the key? Or is that not what happens?

Bit confused
