Most of the new old minis (??) come from the Japanese market. The interior is horrible beyond belief, and most of them are automatics.

Before we commited on our beast I went to some of the people out here who specialise in importing them. I had a drive, and I swear that ened the slighted incline required full throttle to negotiate. They were horrible. No competition to the new mini.

However, if I were Callun I'd be looking for a classic mini that has had the cooper s upgrades (disc front and 1275 motor), or a clubman. Both of those cars are less than 5g, and if you look after them you can always get your money back.

However, he has some quite adequate Toyota transport for the moment.
