Unhappy MINI Rear-ended!

So, I was running an errand today in my MINI when something awful happened. I was on a three lane road in the centre of Nottingham in the middle lane, when I noticed parked cars blocking the path of the driver just ahead in the left hand lane. I slowed down to allow him into my lane, which he did without signalling. He then proceeded to brake harshly to pull in amongst these park cars (again without signalling). I had to slow down quite quickly because of this and a woman in a Golf GTI behind ended up going into the back of me. The damage to my car is a cracked rear bumper under the chrome piece (see attachment). This has also caused the reverse light to stop working. She suffered a few scratches to her front bumper and her front number plate came off.

We swapped details and I've informed my insurance company who are arranging for someone to come and look at the damage to my MINI before they take it in for repair. While I'll not lose any no-claims and I won't have to pay any excess I'm still annoyed because I'll end up losing my MINI over the Chrismas period. I'm away visiting family for 12 days from Saturday which I'll need a car for. My insurance company have said they will replace my car with a like-for-like replacement while mine is being repaired although whether they mean another MINI or a different 1.6 litre engine car I do not know.

Ok rant over!
