Just got back from the Grand Am race in Daytona and the MINI's were standing tall and proud! Tony Nuzzo and crew had the crowd talking about MINI's at every pass, he looked great. Finishing tenth in his class; Tony, in his number 20 MINI Cooper S, was the crowd favorite. What the little car lacked in "back stretch speed", it made up for in the tight corners of the infield at Daytona International Speedway. Pulling past heavier Corvettes and other muscle bound domestics, it was a great sight to see.
In the garage area, prior to the race, people packed the tent to snap photos and catch a glipse of the MINI's. Fellow MINI owners (myself and others) started a makeshift MINI camp in the infield paking and fielded questions, comments and compliments on the cars all day long; and we weren't even racing (so you could only imagine what Tony endured)!
Let's congratulate Tony and the team at Nuzzo Motorsports for a job (and race) well done. You make us proud(er)! |
