From what I've seen the Boston chapter of the BMWCCA only has one Lime Rock event planned this year - on April 1st I think (seriously). They seem to be concentrating on the NH motor speedway place instead.
I think the CT chapter may be planning more Lime Rock events, so I may see if I can switch chapters. I know Lime rock always gets booked up by clubs and each event is always over subscribed.
A friend of mine is in the PCA (and it pit crew for a car in the Rolex 24hr this wweekend) and he says the PCA accepts BMWCCA members to their events. Don't know if that will help for Lime Rock as the other clubs are usually subject to a delay, by which time the event may be full anyway.
I don't know if it makes things better or worse if you're a complete novice (like I am). I imagine they have a fixed number of spaces in each class, but I've no idea whether in any given season there are more beginners or intermediates... |
