This is the correct way to do it, and is the same manner in which my MINI was repaired. If you don't take off the trim and don't blend into the adjacent panels, it will definitely show through as a second rate repair job.

Having said that, I don't know why they're redoing the entire boot and taking off the wing mirror if the scratches are in the rear quarter panel. You may wish to ask them why, and they may have a good explanation.

IMHO, with bodywork, you tend to get what you pay for.... What kind of reputation does Borehamwood have?
