Picked up one of
these today for the remote release for my Rebel XT.
I tested it, it works, and it means Josh can do away with the self-time for those high and mighty angles he likes with his tripod.
Seven bucks, while still ridiculously more expensive than it should be, is a lot better than the 35 that Canon wants for theirs. Good luck getting the yahoos at Radio Shack to cough one up, though. I had to go into the one in Nashua armed with the SKU (43-2003) to get them to find it.
