The hatch mark area represents 1 quart of oil (at least in the US). Bottom of hatch means you need 1 quart. Perhaps it is 1 liter for you.
Your level was at the top of the yellow AFTER you drained some?
You didn't describe your major problems but you're going to keep having them until you drain some more.
