Saw bits and pieces of the Caps game. The Pens did seem to spend a lot of time trying not to win, but somehow they won despite themselves.

That's my mother's number one all-time sports pet peeve; Every team is either the best team in the league or one of the top up-and-coming teams. Every team has one of the top young players in the league. Every team has one of the best goalies. Every player is "special", every player is one of the [insert random superlative] players in the league. This happens especially often when you're watching a national broadcast, when the announcers seem to feel obligated to lavish praise on both teams to avoid any semblance of bias and to make the match-up seem more compelling to keep viewers. The NFL has to be the worst about this. Every football game I watch has a dozen "really special players" who are in the top five at their position in the league. They say it's lonely at the top, but I don't see how it could be, considering that most announcers make it sound like nearly everyone is there...
