I dont know if this is posted in the right forum but it concerns insurance with my forthcoming
MCS.
It is important that people see this because someone could fall into the trap and suffer as a concequence.
Whilst changing over my car insurance from my old car to the new
MCS which im getting in a few days, i was shocked to find out that they would only insure a basic
MCS with a Chili Pack and nothing more.
Any extras over and beyond the Chili Pack are not covered. As we all know, you have to be restrained not to tick any other boxes other than the Chili Pack and as a result, some of us have some well speced up expensive cars. In short, they said that things like a Multifunction wheel and heated screen, seats etc were a modification and as a result, would not be insured.
I was shocked because as far as im concerned, a modification is jacking it up and giving it more horses etc etc.
I then contacted 5 other Insurance Companies and they all said the same. I eventually found one that is only concerned with performance increases and purchased my new policy.
I hope that nobody from this Forum falls into this trap because if your day old car is written off or stolen then you will lose the price of the extras with it seems 'most' insurers.
Sorry about the rant but i hope that as many people as possible are made aware of this potential loophole and as a result, dont come a cropper.
