02 MC Wheel Detail

Received my CG Wheel Guard last week and a few other bits so I decided to get stuck into my wheels this afternoon :thumb:

Some nice clickable thumbnails for you and the steps I took. Apologies if any pics are not amazing quality.....

Before: Jacked up the MINI and removed the passenger side wheel to reveal awfully dirty arches and disgustingly dirty wheels!

Step 1: Mixed up a strong shampoo solution with Megs Shampoo Plus in a spray bottle. I didnt measure the dilution ratio I just put a little extra in the bottle than I normally would to make it a little stronger Sprayed it on the arches and scrubbed everything i could off with a brush. Quick rinse followed by more shampoo spray and i used a bit of wire wool to aggregate some of the dirt. Dried with a microfibre.

Step 2: Scrub the wheel, back and front and bring it back to life again! There were a few spots of tar etc that I just couldnt shift, maybe when I get the time I will get some clay and tar remover on there!

Step 3: Dry wheel and apply a quick coat of AG SRP which I buffed off after hazing. Followed by a coat of CG Wheel guard, left to haze then buffed off.

Step 4: Dressed the arches with Poorboys Bold and Bright, fitted the wheel back in place, wiped down the tyre and again dressed with Poorboys Bold and Bright.

Im really happy with the result, and managed to get both passenger side wheels done before it started to rain Hopefully get the other 2 done within a week :thumb:

Comments welcomed

Cheers, Dan
