Do you mean the trim you can see from the side of the car, or the trim under the wheel well that you cannot see without poking about/sticking your head under? If it's the latter, it shouldn't be hanging, it should be fitted tight/tucked/clipped in behind the hard plastic wheel arch trim. It may have been knocked/worked itself free. Or may be poorly fitting.
If it's the former, then it may have broken free. Is that at the front or rear of the car too?
