He sent us all a PM about it. He discontinued the MINI2 blogs (which I guess can be credited to getting me hooked and later starting my own) and then moved them over to that slightly independent site. I don't know if there was more sinister reasoning behind it.

Jason, I have a big green bin that I keep all my autocross stuff just like you list. Two large jugs of water that I refill, and some gronola bars/snacks in there two. Note it hasn't been opened in a year and a half, but that stuff is all still in there. I guess it doubles as an emergency basement bomb shelter kit too. (especially the helmet!)
