I don't mean to be funny but the ROVER designers and engineers created the drive train and set up the handling of the Mini as BMW had never manufactured a front wheel drive car before.

You'll find many Rover ideas in BMWs since the buy over eg indictor stocks, variable valve control system.

But I wouldn't call Rover/MG crap cars.

I love gettin back into the Mini after driving other cars like my dads focus, but there two different types of cars for different purposes.
