MC auto fuel consumption - what's possible?

Hey all

Now the R56 MC auto has been out for a few months, I'm curious to know what kind of fuel consumption people are getting. What's typical in everyday driving? What's achievable if you're careful, or if even you're not ?

My MC auto clocked up its first 1000 miles today, on a 350-mile trip - mainly relatively legal motorway cruising, plus some M25 carpark and a B-road blast to finish - and its average on the OBC showed between 41 and 42 mpg. Given its newness, this seemed reasonable to me, but interested to know how other people are doing, especially as their cars loosen up (hopefully!) after a few thousand miles.

Any comments welcome.

Thanks
S

Done 5,000 miles in the MC Auto and its doing 38MPG according to the OBC.

Just a pity they didn't put the MCS 50 litre tank in the MC ............... We do about 350 miles between fill ups.

Two tanks for my S auto

I just filled up for the second time. OBC says 29.4mpg average. I got it with 18 miles and the average was 28. Been going up steadily.
My running mileage goes between about 12 and 99.9 (max?) It spends most of its time between 28 and 45. Can this be averaged over a little longer so the numbers do not bounce around quite so much?
My old Cooper started at 26 mpg for my first gallon and averaged almost 30.5 for the first 100K until they switched the the winter blend last fall when it reverted back to about 27.

Mileage

Does anyone know the mileage for the Automatic Cooper S and the Manual Cooper S? I live in Richmond, British Columbia and we don't have the automatic yet, it arrives around the end of May - beginning of June. Thanks.

Over here (US ) both R56 MC and MCS were fitted with the larger tank 50L as standard.

I have 2,800 miles on my MC and I have been getting 38 - 39.5 mpg. This is just regular driving. I do not typically drive on the highways.

I'm at 3000 miles in my Cooper and we're averaging a very good 38mpg. This is a majority of town driving. Long/motorway journeys don't appear to improve it... (maybe it's the speed I travel at )
It's far better then I was expecting and am more then pleased.

MINI, RX8 and MX5 - Done those............. It's now TTime

2,500 mile MCA we get 36-37 mpg, most of this is town driving and some fast motorway work.
