Offline | Cooper D Auto I drove a Cooper (petrol) auto, and I was just about to order one when I found the Cooper D auto was available to order. I didn't get a test drive as i'm not sure if they have actually built and Cooper D auto's yet! I'd be pleased to hear from anyone who has one! |

Offline | Paddle shifting is brilliant push down to go down pull towards you to go up. Also the shifting on the manual on the gear stick is smooth and effortless. In manual version though it still auto does some things. Like if your going 30mph driving up to a red light you brake to a stop, the auto box will drop you down to 2nd not 1st and you need to paddle down to 1st. Its great though. I am a complete auto convert. Effortless gearchanging automatically when your in city driving. Manual for when you want to down shift and accelerate round someone or have fun throwing it around country roads. I love it and more importantly my partner loves it too. |

Offline | One week in and I'm mighty impressed with this gearbox. I especially like how it downshifts in full-auto mode when braking into a corner or when coming to halt at traffic lights. It does sometimes get a little confused - either holding a gear too long if you give it a squirt then back off; or by not shifting down when you would like it to. Nothing that isn't fixed with a quick pull/push of the paddles though - and when you do so, it's also smart enough to then shift itself back into full-auto mode if you then don't make another subsequent manual change for a little while afterwards. |

Offline | @yorkslad: the Paddles are great. very easy to use and because they turn with the steering wheel, they are always at hand. Initially I thought the paddles aere a gadget and that I would not use them. Now I use them all the time, instead of the gear lever! What I like about the paddles, is that when you are in D mode, if you press the paddles it changes gears (for example when you want to brake hard you just press the paddle and you change to a lower gear) and then after 10 secs, if you do nothing is goes back to D. In DS mode it becomes fully manual once you press the paddles. Caedite eos. Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius. |

Offline | Hi there Stiggy Drive an MC auto, now just passed its 6-month birthday and 5.5k miles under its wheels. Absolutely great car, with only one slight rattle from time to time, and a slippy floor mat to moan about - and I'm not moaning, as it's a magic little machine! Comfortable, chuckable, surprisingly quick, a total hoot in the bends, and even more so with the sport (hooligan) button down! Good luck with the Dooper auto, should be a really good package. Would have waited for one too, but need to change my previous car much earlier this year. Look forward to hearing all about it. Cheers S |
