R56 Cooper Auto Transmition Question...

So let me set up my question before i ask it. 4 month old Chili Red R56 Cooper, Auto. I drive in Manual mode my wife drives in Automatic... is this acceptiable? is the drive train designed for me to drive the automatic transmition in manual mode all the time or should i drive it in automatic mode? Will this cause problems in the future, or will we be motoring in 10 years?

I'm sure the 'box is designed to work equally well in either mode for the lifetime of the vehicle!

I agree with Stiggy...cannot se any reason for any concerns or problems. The box works in the same way in both modes...the electronics are doing the difference.

R53 MCS Auto same scenario to you above ... Cars now 25 months young and 15K miles on since new not a single issue to date

Hard to believe that a premium brand like (BMW) MINI can't replicate the 1970's British Leyland standards where such actions would have been guaranteed to end in tear$

Do you think you get better fuel economy in manual mode?
