Offline | 07 mini's Hi all I am sure this has come up before but worth a mention. Whilst reading an article about the new pug 206 ooh sorry 207! It was said that the new 1.6 engines are not being used until the end of the year because BMW asked pug not to use it till the new mini is out. The fact is that pug are bringing the engines out way before the end of the year, ie oct/nov time so this should be a telling tale to when the mini will be out.Or just speculation. Just random reading i would pass on ![]() Checkmate mad owner |

Offline | I think it would be a good idea to let peugeot release the new engines first. Therefore any problems with the new technology can be changed before the mini goes on sale. |

Offline | 207 is already out with new engines here in France. I tried the 207 with 1.6 hdi (diesel) engine sunday 9 april it was 'open doors' at some peugeot dealers. The 1.6 hdi 110 hp will be perfect on the mini ... I have no worries about this engine ... just a few worries about how much bmw reduced making costs of the next mini. Maybe I am wrong about this feeling. Mini and Bmw play their images. We will see. I hope they did a good work finally. I have heard from a Bmw/Mini dealer that Mini dealers will be separated from Bmw dealers ... Bmw does not want to be impacted if the Mini has flaws ? |

Offline | Bit late for that, the first gen MINI had plenty of those! They always had a plan to try and seperate the MINI dealers from BMW dealers (at the front at least, most have shared service) as they're very different brands with very different images. |

Offline | Thers a review of the 207 in CAR magazine theres as small column at the end of the article that says Peugot wont have the BMW 150bhp twin scroll turbo deisel engine till the end of the year. That must be the one they are saving. |

| Rockabilly | I read a few of your other posts and first of all hello and welcome to MINI2 You wrote that you work for Peugeot and that you are currently in Oxford MINI plant. Hmm...just a thought. Why would you need to go to a Peugeot dealer (open doors) to try a new 207 if you are a Peugeot employee?Just thinking about your 2007 MINI post (thread)... Never mind, I wish you all a nice weekend ![]() |

Offline | just to clarify it's the 1.6 petrols they are saving diesels there not worried about as mini are not using them as far as i know Mini and pug are sharing the future one cooper and S models engines and these are the ones pug aren't using till the end of the year Checkmate mad owner |

| Living in Mini Wasteland | I usually walk through the BMW dealership on the way to the MINI delaership. When a saleman asks if he can help me, I just say I am getting my MINI serviced. I then usually get a look from them that can only be described as "a snobby you're not good enough for a BMW anyway". Sold the Cooper. Now driving the Traveller. I mean Clubman. |
