Offline | CAN Bus? Will the 2nd Gen. engines use the CAN Bus architecture for the ECU and electronics as in the newer BMWs. If so we will need new scan tools to read the ECU. 2003 Solid Black MCS ![]() |

| Deals Gap Junkie | As long as the OBDII standard stays in effect, your current OBDII Scan tools will work according to the standards' functionality. FWIW, the current R50/R53 uses CAN for parts of its' networking, however that has no literal impact on the OBDII port. ![]() |
