Hi Guys,

Anyone any idea? I have just ordered a MCS for March delivery & would love to have the LSD but fear it will not be available in time?

Hi the lsd is available for march production from week 10 which is the second week in march so if you have ordered a march 1st car it will be built in Feb so it wont have LSD you need to make sure the dealer puts your car in march production

No, it's a hard decision. Personally I'm adding 6 weeks of waiting, but then I also get to choose the storage pack, and I guess LSD will be worth it on slippery norwegian roads.

Just to confirm, my scheduled build week was 04 and now, with LSD it's 10, so... mmm April, springtime, brand new Cooper S, hot chicks etc... THAT will be my xmas.

I have ordered my car with LSD, and i will get it february 9th.

LSD is available from january.

I specially waited for this option, and ordered mine allready in september last year

I read the other Limited-slip thread, however I see no indication from the dealerships here in the 'states that the LSD is being delayed. The MINIUSA website says several items are delayed until March '07, however the LSD isn't marked as such. I suppose we'll find out very soon. All that said, I don't see a good reason why the LSD would be delayed as it's similar if not identical to the R53's LSD, no?

Limited Slip Differential has now been comfirmed for production for the UK from Week 10 onwards (week commencing 5 March 2007).

It will be a stand-alone option, only on MINI Cooper S with Manual Transmission, at £110.00 and there are 'no plans' to include it in the CHILI Pack.

You would think so, wouldn't you?

But, as our configurator has not been updated yet, there is still no way of actually adding this option to a spec.

If it helps, the Option Code is 2TA. But unless you trust your dealer 100% not to mess it up, I'd hang on until the New Year and wait for MINI to update their systems. At least that way you'll actually get a printed order with all the options you want on it!

Still not able to add this onto my spec (and i have a week 10 delivery), garage thought this was going to be Week 10 for Production now, not week 10 for delivery, anyone else know any more?

I am able to add it to my spec.

Not sure if I am going to - been told that the 'provisional' delivery date is Wk 8 but may be earlier - so will be likely to be > 1 month extra wait for it - it will make it an expensive option for me as my 997 is currently loosing about £600 per month!

Shall find out more tomorrow!

Tried to add LSD to my spec with **** Lovett in Bristol on 20th Jan and have been told that :

A) it's not on system yet
B) it might never be an option.....

Had LSD on my last MCS, and I can feel the difference between both setups as I have a somewhat effervescent driving style.

I'll persevere with dealer, but am now worried that I'll be saddled with something that is slightly less excellent than it could be.

Thinking of parking the order until this gets sorted one way or the other....

Why am I not surprised?

The Option Code is 2TA, so obviously it does exist, but they are right in that it is not on the system yet (MINI are really slow at updating things!)

Tell them to look at the Infonet for around 27 December 2006 and they will find the announcement that it is available from Week 10 build onwards.
