Following week it goes to K & N for an induction system ( thanks Scott ) over to Samco for red hoses ( thanks Mark ) and then over to Power Plus for a superchip and a rolling road ( if they've cracked it by then, thanks Dave )The tints are on and look fabulous... It'll be away for a while but will it be worth it....will post photos and experiences as they go Tom Last edited by Rakey : Jan 19th, 2007 at 04:44 PM. Reason: non-sponsor promotion |

| Deals Gap Junkie | Sounds like you've been busy setting up your appointments! Is Quicksilver fabricating a prototype for a product on your R56, or are you getting a one-off exhaust? Ditto K&N and Superchips. Does Superchips even know how to go about reverse engineering the ECU code? Could you provide information as to what they're capable of or have said regarding their experience with the R56? Are you going about it correctly: doing set of dyno pulls for stock, after exhaust, then after intake, then after superchips mapping? ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | I'll do before and after BHP figures, my car is the prototype for K & N UK, Quicksilver and Samco, hence why it's away for a month. Superchips is TBA as it hasnt been cracked yet, my confidence is high in their professional abilities and the guarantees they give me. Am looking into a big fat intercooler at the moment too as well as moving the sport button to the steering wheel R/H/S next to the cruise but I think the re map will make this button redundant. Will post all the photographs/ dyno charts as she is completed....have decided that the works style upturned double big bore is the most suitable finish for the exhaust. Ready Thursday! |

| MINI2 Regular | The rules only apply to ' forward of the B post' . Photographs always make tints look excessive, especially at the wrong angle and even more so with the security glass that is on this car. The fronts are light smoke which in combination with the exisiting factory tints is just on the wrong side of the 70% visible light transmission rule. It is however inside Govt regulations that suggest the Police and VOSA only enforce the legislation where tinting is 'excessive' ie below 45% VLT, which is where you'll get points and in some serious problems. This is why you shouldnt order factory privacy glass as it stops you having a nice, gentle ' allround' tint and your car will look like a Mini van. Or a GP. From the inside it doesnt appear tinted at all, from the outside you can still see the driver clearly. |

Offline | I can understand why people dont always RR after every mod (price ,time....) Its worthwhile using a stopwatch in say 4the gear doing say 3000-5000rpm then 5000 to redline.runs (both ways average on a flatish road) .Costs nothing ,quite good fun and assuming air temp ,wind etc are similar on each day ,does give a reasonable indication of any improvement. Ryphille... OK you meant the comp outlet tube points outboard not inboard Best Regards Roland GTT ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | I've asked the guy at quicksilver to answer the exhaust questions, sorry i can't reply with my lack of knowledge Jury is still out at Superchips, but it is booked in for a monster intercooler at Forge on Monday. Yeeeeeeeeehah. If that don't help a turbo, nowt will Off to the rolling road at power plus now. we'll see if the exhaust liberated some ponies. will report on sport button off/ on too....i'll post the charts up |
