does anything think the throw in the r56 is too long like me? has anyone gotten a short shifter yet? are there any out? i saw a few but i dont know if they are made for the r56 or mini in general? the install should be easy right, im not a car mechanic so yeah? any more info i should know??

The R56 shifting is as sloppy as sloppy gets! I'm biting the bullet and getting the Alta unit. A bit pricey but adjustable from 0 to 45% or so. I haven't seen any vendors carrying it yet so the price is still top dollar around $245 from Alta.
Next step will be to drop it w/ springs or coil overs. The ride height is abysmal.

i think i saw a b and m short shifter for liek 60 bucks, it probably sucks huh? wat about this one Cravenspeed Adjustable Short Shift Kit

I have no experience with Craven Speed items so can't offer an opinion. I have had good experiences with Alta.
OutMotoring has it for $169.94 plus $45- for the '07 S.
Craven Speed has it for $169.95 plus $15- for the same but you have to add in the $30 knob too and that makes it the same $$. At the Craven Speed web site they give you knob color options too.
Yeah, I was truly surprised at the sloppy shifter is. I think my 1975 Civic back in the day was tighter!
