Offline | Alta stuff for the R56? Okay! I'm new to the R56 boards as I am ordering mine sometime this week and I have some questions regarding the new ALTA products. I see that ALTA has released some stuff for the new R56, but I don't know much about the car yet as it pretty much just came out in here in Japan. On my 2005 Cooper S I had the ALTA CAI and I loved it! So... I guess I wonder if there is a Killer upgrade from ALTA this time around. It has to be kinda easy to install though because I'll probably have to do it by myself with my limited tools... I'm interested in more powerful noise and better performance of course! What's the scoop? |

Offline | The Alta stuff I've seen is top notch. I would go for the Cat back exhaust... followed by the intake... then the hi-flow race cat they offer (depending on your funds. Been in a couple cars now with this combo and they really felt great. Seat of the pants, probably equal if not more power than the JCW with the ECU flash. I went JCW, though for warranty purposes. Maybe they're cheaper, there? (probably wishful thinking) ![]() Founding member of R56 Anonymous: "Hello. My name is Mike. I'm a driving enthusiast... and I still like the R56" |

Offline | I would think shipping would be to exspensive. How ever the first two modifications I did to my 2007 R56 S was an H-Sport compitition rear sway bar and the Alta front mount intercooler, I exspected the intercooler to make a difference in hot weather but was really surprized as the weather here IN Oregon, USA has been 40 F to 60 F and I noticed a big diference after installing the front mount inter cooler, I definately gained some HP and the rpm seems to just run up so much quicker and I think in actualy reduced the torq steer some. I would highly recomend there products. I am saying for the cat down pipe now, I went ahead and did the factory JCW stage one and it was ok but I think I would have gained more by just going all Alta equipment to start with. Dennis |
