Sorry to inform you but BOV's do not give any performance gain.

Don't tell the scooby boys though eh!!

It seems that all R56S's RR'd so far are consistent in achieving higher than BMW quoted figures. 186-190bhp seems the norm for a std. S, with 203-208bhp for the JCW stage 1 kitted cars.

It would have shown the same figure had it not had the forge BOV adaptor fitted.

Has anyone else with the ITG panel removed their resonator box completely. It sounds as if you have a PIPERCROSS CONE in it under acceleration. There is the point of saying that the air going into the filter won't be cold or will be travelling to terbulant but that is what a PIPERCROSS CONe acts like anyway. Honestly someone else give it ago and see what you think. I have not left mine like it as i prefere the stealth aprouch. Let me know what you think if you give it ago.

Had a nice n noisy blast up Deansgate a few months ago & also took the resonator box off for the World Record Attempt at Donnington ... noise is amusing BUT hot (less dense) going into the engine aint good for performance ... the K&N Apollo uses the standard CAI next to the headlamp, gives +7 bhp, good if not going stealth

For stealth, get a piece of 50mm dia tube cut to length and insert it through the front of the resonator then replace the CAI hose or cover the holes with sticky back plastic ;}

A friend already covered the holes on his resonator box and seemed to not only us but to a few guys at my garage that it had less pickup at lower revs. But did get rid of the diesel sound at low revs when cold.

Just fitted an ITG to my 'S'

I managed to find (surprise to me!) a local place that supplies ITG kit - Merlin MotorSport at Castle Coombe Race Circuit (Wiltshire).

Needless to say, I ordered an ITG drop-in filter for my new '08 Cooper S, here's what I've found so far:

Engine noise from 70Mph onwards is actually quieter on the motorway than with the stock filter - it doesn't sound as "rough".

Pick-up in any gear, at any speed is vastly improved - I always thought there was a slight lag, but with the new filter, that doesn't seem to be there.

Idle sounds a little "meatier", but Pop's, Crackles and back-fires still happen aplomb (well done mini!!).

Fuel economy has gone down slightly - but that's probably due to me giving it some stick - traction control is needed!! (should that light be flickering all the time when going round corners??)

Hi all, I have a ITG seems to make a small difference... I'm new here so be nice.

I have been looking for an electronic upgrade and found a plug in box, has anyone had any experiences with the Steinbauer upgrade ? I met these guys at a show in germany.. looks impressive but not sure want some feedback first before spending my hard earn pennies on it.
