Offline | I'm getting mine from Lohen, as for a price I'm not too sure what they will eventually sell it for. They quoted me a price (in September) and it wont go above that but they were not sure what it will eventually sell for, maybe a little bit more than what I payed with the new sleeve that the kit needs. But as a ball park figure I would say around £200 to £250. They ordered mine along with their own for evaluation. I know they have fitted it to their demo car this week and are RR it, so we shall see what they find out. I'm expecting mine hopefully at the end of the week if not beginning of the next. ![]() .: Mary MkII (January '07 - to Present) R56 Cooper S :. .: H&R Springs : JCW Rotors : Forge Blow Off Adaptor : Alta CAI :. |

Offline | I installed one of these last week. Cost about $280 US. With the exchange rate you'd be getting a killer deal if customs didn't charge you out the butt. It changes the character of the car. I hear all sorts of noises I didn't before. The turbo spooling up, the sucking sound of air going through the intake, a whistle/whine noise at ~>4.5k and of course the blowoff pchtshhh noise with every gear shift and throttle lift. There was a noticable difference in the butt dyno too. oh yea, install took about 30 minutes. You can order direct from Alta Mini Performance - Home Page |

Offline | Have you driven it much in the rain Robble? From the design, it looks like water would come straight in the intake and soak the air filter (especially if you were following someone too closely). ![]() |

Offline | Just about everyday since I've installed it it has been raining - hard. The filter is pretty far back from the scoop. I doubt there is any danger at all of water getting in it. That said, I've opened the bonnet within a few minutes of driving in the rain and everything was dry. I guess the heat evaporates everything pretty quickly. I have completely removed the black plastic thing that's inside the scoop. |

| Blackpool Mini | Sounds great!!!! This is the email I got back from Lohen: Hi Dave, We do have one of these on our Gen2 car at the moment. We are doing testing to make sure this product is safe for UK Minis. After we have done this they will be available for you. Price needs to be reviewed first. Hope this helps. Offline | Cheers Benny. Will be interesting to see how this behaves with the UK model car, I know from reading posts on NAM that Alta had to put a lot of effort into getting the correct airflow for it to work with the US cars MAF. |
