Throttle Body Heating

Hi everyone

I was wondering if anyone here knows if the new MCS has a heating system for the throttle body?

The reason I ask is a friend of mine has a Subaru Forrester XT (turbo) and he has found out that his throttle body has coolant lines running to it to heat it in cold climates. He has now bypassed this and has noticed an instant increase in power.

Logic tells me that the Mini is also likely to have this as it is also built for cold climates. Considering I live in Queensland, Australia and we have not had a single day below 0 degrees C since I have lived here, I don't think my throttle body will freeze and therefore this is a feature I could live without. In fact in hot climates a heater on the throttle body is a power thief.

I could pull the airbox out but I thought I would ask here to save a bit of time.

Thanks everyone!

Lynton

I thought someone here would know, time to stop being lazy and pull the air box out and have a look. I have this strange feeling it doesn't but curiosity is getting the better of me.

Nope, it doesn't appear to have any cooling passages...

Checked it on REALoem.org
