Jcw Stage 1 Kit Or Aftermarket Tuning

I'm thinking of getting the JCW Stage 1 kit on my S, but also toying with the idea to go aftermarket tuning parts instead.

So lets say £1300 for the stage 1 kit fitted, then have piece of mind of car warranty as mine is only 11 months old.

Considering maybe instead, Superchip Remap, Borla exhaust, and maybe Alta Induction Kit coming in at roughly £1150..

Would the official kit at least be worth say half its retail price after 2 years selling on ??
Aftermarket parts give more power increases and sound noise??

Well you could get GTT's stealth Cat...and for a few ££ have a nice performance boost, that is invisible and would not necessarily have to be declared to insurance companies... unlike the other options you proposed.

Its your decision of course but it seems strange not to take advantage of the money spent by BMW on R&D in creating the JCW kit, assuming you can get it fitted for roughly the same money.

Plus you keep the engine warranty, a not insignificant point for R56s, bearing in mind what has been beefed up in the engine for the forthcoming JCW car.

My JCW briefly hit 221 on the dyno at 1320 recently which was a fairly reasonable result.

If you want some serious hp you will need to trade in for an R53 to mod !
