| MINI2 Master | Downpipe / cat replacement Help ![]() Was looking at options on replacing the restrictive cat on my R56 JCW. I wanted to keep the JCW back box and don't think there's much restriction there anyway. Was going to go with GTT's Stealth cat, but Roland doesn't have any 'to exchange' with my OEM cat and i can't be without my car for 3 days while i take mine off, send to GTT..................and so on ![]() Next up, Milltek. Good quality, not expensive and good gains. So i phoned Star Performance ( nearest place to me i'd trust ) and straight away they said 'NO DON'T DO IT' They have stopped fitting high flow cats to all BMW's, Audi's etc. because they had too many issues with CEL. Anybody fitted either of these and had any issues? If you wish to stay anonymous, please PM me ![]() Thanks, C. 06 HB/W MCS Chilli |

Offline | I'd be interested to hear the results if you manage to find one! I seem to remember a few problems posted to NAM about the Milltek exhaust and cat but I think the US cars have a different exhaust layout so it may not be helpful? |

| MINI2 Master | Spooky already spoken to Tom and they have never had an issue with their's. It could well be that because of the issue in the states, that this has 'tarred' the UK spec too.Why can't there be a MINI specialist nearer to where i live ![]() 06 HB/W MCS Chilli |

Offline | Not heard of any issues with the CEL but I have heard that taking that cat out wrecks the mpg. Now I cant really understand why it would make your MPG go down personally, I thought it would have helped it if anything. Does anyone have any more info on this, I only know of one person who has this mod so I dont have a lot to compare it to lol. I am enjoying getting 43+mpg out of my R56 and dont want to lose that but must admit that I could always be happier with a bit more grunt when I push the pedal ![]() Just bought a Mini Cooper S !! |
