Firstly forgive me.

I am not a mini owner YET. (but neither do I expect to be one until they come down in price).

However, i am a very keen follower of the brand, and when I finally do have the cash to buy one and mod it, I was wondering if there was anyway of shoehorning a supercharger into the Clubman D.

No I am not mad. I am hoping that it would increase the bottom end torque a little, and therefore the 0-60.

If the space permits I would be looking for a system similar to that which was debuted on cars such as the Lancia Delta S4 1.8 and the Nissan March Micra 1.0, and recently brought out as a "new" idea by VW in there Golf/Touran 1.4 TSI "Twin-Charger".


(I also like the idea of 4x4, but unless the Crossman becomes real, it just ain't gonna happen).

Why bother putting a supercharger in a diesel? It will cost a hell of alot so you may aswell buy an R53 COOPER S (supercharged) or the new R56 COOPER S (turbo), as you wont be getting the MPG extra from the DIESEL anyway.

I doubt if there is room under the bonnet of a Cooper D to do this even if you wanted to. (Remember MINI can't even find room for the urea injection system needed to meet California NOX limits at the moment.)

Urea injection system? Bah - just pee in your petrol tank during every fill-up. That'll sort it.
