Do you think that the Nightfire red will be available for the MCS after a while?
Like what happened with the Hyper Blue for the MCS - it became available for Cooper and the One about a year after release.

I really want this colour now I've seen that Lightning blue isn't dark enough for me.

but you could be waiting a year + some, I remember PW not been on the MCS at launch and it took well over a year for it to come out

ironic that rover used to output cars in a shade called nightfire red isn't it...lol...my dads bike is painted rover nightfire red.

glad they are bringing back a crack at velvet red but would need to see it in bright sunlight to see if its got the VR "WOW!!!" factor.

Oddly, the Canadian market get metallics are no additional charge. Well, for the time being, anyway.

Also metalic colours are a rip off, they charge you more for them, but they actually don't cost that much more than solid to produce

the dealer I went to today had actual swatch cards of the colours, so you can see that the MY is more of a mustard compared to LY

You can see the difference between the blues too, Lightening seems closer to Hyper Blue than Indi blue, and Laser seems closer to Electric Blue.

Nightfire is lovely, such a shame its not on the MCS

What does everyone thing of my new idea?

because Nightfire red isn't available for the MCS and I will only want a MCS then I have to rethink. Not keen on Lightning blue as its not dark enough for me. I do like Hyper Blue though so maybe its an idea.

I'm now thinking Dark Grey MCS with silver roof and bonnet stripe (checkmate style) so I have my own style park lane MCS. What you guys think?

I feel your torment Laura over the nightfire

In the end we went and ordered black yesterday, and are having some thoughts about roof or graphics for the future

TBH, DS has never been a favourite colour of mine, and its very common. I think the silver roof on this colour would be nice, but not as stand out as on the nightfire.

If a silver roof is something you really want, and you want it to stand out then I would seriously consider the choice of chili red or lightening blue, these would both look stunning with silver roof, and stand out

Hmmmm yes indeed have to agree totally. I feel the same way about electric blue as Dark grey as they are everywhere!

I did like hyper blue and have been told Lightning blue is similar if not slightly darker so will have to see this colour in the flesh and see what I think. Silver roof would look cool with this colour. Will have to go and visit the dealer when the test driving is arranged. Roll on November 18th!

having seen the swatch card of the Lighting Blue is it slightly darker than the Hyper Blue, I liked it alot in fact, could be the one for you

Might be worth a trip the dealers for you to see the cards, oh and don't forget to enquire with the paint shop first what is easy to have as a base coat for a roof respray, black, white or body colour

Lightning Blue with a silver roof would look great IMO
