Comfort access door button picture

Captured (and blown up, hence the poor quality) from the new MINI.com website, the button you have to press to lock/unlock the comfort access system on the new MINI.

Comfort access is the system where you can keep the keys on your person and open the door, unlock the car, start the car etc. without using the key at all.

A final twist on my spec sheet I ended up adding the Comfort Access System, how many of you chose this option?

If you are on your own, how do you check the doors are locked? Surely if you go back to the car the door will be unlocked when you reach it?

If you work close to where you park, say just inside the window will your car be open as you are sat at your desk?

Possibly being a tad thick here but how close do you have to be for it to activate?

I believe only the drivers door unlocks when you are a few feet away from the car and you have to press the button on the handle to open the door.

Dont see why there will be problems, it's pretty much the same as they use on the 1 series.

But surely anyone can press the button on the car should you be unfortunate to be in close proximity with your fob. For example I am sat at the PC now with a car 4 feet away through a glass window. Could someone open the door to get in the car? (I know I can see through the glass! But you get my point.)

Yeah - with the 1 series at least you have to be right next to the front door - basically in a position to be able to open it. It works for both the driver and passenger front doors.
