Same as i heard from my dealer. its a no brainer. clear lenses should be standard on all cars these days. Even my works astravan has them!

Well they are £50 on the on line configurator and £50 on the order from my dealer.

The initial dealer speccer had them down at £0 - but this was an error.

to change the bulbs. Well we all asked and checked last night at the VIP launch.

There is a brace that goes over part of the engine you can see it

well you un bolt this and it drops the head lights and stuff out and down about 4 inches or so

they say it gives you enough roon to get into the back of the lights.

some one want to try it.

Changing the bulbs is No.1 on my "to-do" list when mine arrives, but when that might be is anyone's guess!

Fully agree, doesn't sound like the minor task you might expect it to be though.

With my DIY skils I fully expect the entire front module to fall off.

This is from the Cooper manual, but I don't see why it would be significantly different on the 'S': -

There are two large access covers inside the wheel well. One for the turn lights and one for the parking/fog lights. These are removed by turning them counterclockwise (/unscrew them). Inner covers will then be revealed - Again, turn counterclockwise to remove and voila! you have access to the back of the bulbs.

I think the orange bulbs look O.K., but it's not to difficult to change them if you want to.

I have added silver rear indicator bulbs to our shop NewMINIStuff.com
I test fitted both today, gives a much better look
On cars without xenons, the front indicators can be easily accessed fron under the bonnet, cars with xenons there is an access hole under the wheel arch
The rear bulbs can easily be changed - access through little flap in the side cubby holes
The front & rear clear lenses are standard on the S, optional on the Cooper

I'm assuming the bulbs are the same fit as the current (the indicators)? As I've taken mine out of my current S in time for trade in (how tight am I!).

Hello - my first ever post after being a guest for the last year and a bit!

Just ordered my Cooper S, after having a cooper for nearly two years - quick question (probably stupid) about the replacement bulbs - what is the difference between Silver and Diadem?

Cheers,
Joe

Guess it's personal preference, but I think silver looks better than diadem, which look a bit "rainbow like" or like the colours you get on bubbles sometimes.

Even with clear lenses, there is a still an orange effect from the bulbs.

Fit the silver efforts and it goes away.

Photos is my public gallery.
