White Indicators

Hi, this is my first time on the forum and I hope am in the right section. I have ordered a new R56 Cooper which is due to be delivered next week.I did not appreciate the headlights had orange panels inside and that you had to pay £50 extra for white(my mistake). The orange ones look terrible, however having contacted the dealer they say the car is already made and it is too late to change. Can the headlight be taken apart and the orange disc replaced or is it a replacement headlight job.

Replacement headlight job I think.

I think someone has painted their indicator light cluster mirror silver to cover the orange and that worked. Good luck!

Looks great Mike, I will order a set soon.

Still have some questions:
1: Is the front and rear indicator the same (same type)?
2: Are the Philips Silvervision complete white when fitted, no more orange? Or do I have to order the Silvertec to get a 100% white look?
3: I want to add the front sidelight bulb from you site, for a whiter and brighter light. Is this also an esay fit with Xenon?
4: Fitting the rear bulb is no roblem I think. My only concern are the 2 bulbs in the front (front indicator and front sidelights). Can you explain how to fit these bulbs? Is it hard to fit these?

Hope you can help me

Thanks

Is this the Philips or the Silvetec?
Is the Philips completely silver when fitted, no more orange tint?

Today I dropped into an automotive shop (im in Australia so postage from Newministuff was probably out of the question) and picked up some philips silvervisions (PY21W is the code)- they seem to be made in france? They have a slight orange tinge when looking at the bulb from the side, however looking from the point that they will be looked at when fitted, they look very silver... I too might take a pic showing one side fitted, one side not...

Anyhoo - I am going to have a crack at fitting them this weekend (I have xenons) - I will probably need to hunt around to find out more details for the side indicators.

Any tips out there?

I fitted the bulbs this weekend - it took all of 20 mins (including emptying stuff out of the boot to get to the rear light compartment :P

The front ones were actually really easy (I have xenons). I just followed the instructions in the car manual

The bulbs were $50 a pair, and worth every cent IMO
