There are differences between these two cars??? One of these days I'll have to try and figure out what they are... or not.

He found that on our NewMINIclub.nl website, at least there is the original.
The picture is taken by Arjan and Sleefje (It's their PW) at the end of the MINI Hunt organised by MINI Netherlands which took place in and around Amsterdam October 1st.

At the end of the 'Urban Rally' alle MINI's were parked in a old factory hall and there was a possibility to take some pictures with the R56. This is a very nice one

Here are some more to prove it

I didn't say it wasn't cool- it is! I just think a lot of slight changes were made, which I think feel very forced, to make a new model and sell more cars- Like the way they changed the shape of the side mirrors slightly or fattened the rears appearance or added another middle spoke to the spoiler or stretched it slightly etc- its just deviating from what was a very hard thought out 'original' MINI design and altering it just for the sake of a newer model! And as for the pics- There are totally differences between these cars- the headlight angle, headlights themselves, bonnet shape and slant, front bumper detail/ mouldings -are not as nice. I admit the bigger exhaust and the interior are nice but thats it for me! Maybe it will grow on me- i don't know! PS Don't get me started on losing that beautiful supercharger whine! Rant over!

pretty much everything bar the supercharger = EU Legislation.

what would you think if the Clio was the same shape as last years, or the Civic, or any BMW, or Aston's ? booooooooooring. at least the car HAS changed this time.

I think the "facelift" (July 2004 onwards) MINIs where the ones "changed for changes sake", if you could say that of any MINI. And personally I don't feel they gained very much at that stage either in terms of design, and (as I wrote at the time), they made a few backwards steps for what seemed like no good reason at all (as well as some very good forward steps).

This is a completely new new MINI, sure it looks quite a lot like the new one, but there are many reasons behind the changes this time, other than just a "refresh" and an attempt to boost sales mid product lifecycle.

I think that just looking at photographs and comparing them is not fair on the new car. I was also very apprehensive about (in particular) the headlights but when I saw the car in the metal, all my fears were dispelled.
