Question: Why hasn't MINI released any offical lightning blue exterior photos?

Even the now delayed nightfire red is shown on the MINI site.

Failing the official photo of my MINI I have taken the Cooper S photos and made myself a Cooper! I still wont official propaganda from MINI - sorry I mean photos.

Does anyone now a dealer or MINI employee that can shed some little on the shyness of the colour in press releases and promos?

Good photoshopping

Don't know why there are no official photos, but then there have only really been Laser Blue and red in the press photos.

Check out the uk configurator. Not photos but it will give you an idea of the shade as compared to Laser, indi or hyper.

I have ordered Lightning Blue for delivery on 15th Dec. I am more relaxed now after seeing the configurator. I think its going to be the R56 answer to Hyper / Indi. I am sure it will all be good.

if you go onto the mini roof designer website and use the roof deigner tool it lists all of the mini colours (new and old) on a colour palette. This places LB between space blue and hyper bblue so gives a good inication of its shade.

But then it also has Electric Blue as darker than Laser Blue and that's not right from what I've seen.

For that matter, it also makes Hyper look darker than Indi, and that's not right at all.

Check out the MINI USA site, that has all the colours on.

OMG the US site shows Lightning blue to be a light purple. If my car turns up in that colour I'm rejecting the car - it isn't even close to the brochure colour sample i have!!!!

All of the colors on the U.S. site seem off from the samples and from the production model photos that have been posted here and on other sites. It's difficult to see that there is a difference between the two reds from the site, even though there obviously is.

If people in the U.S. begin ordering their cars early next month based upon what they see on the website, they may be surprised when they actually take delivery.

I sent in a message asking about the bad coloring. It will be interesting to see how they respond. If they do.

The lightning blue is a completely different colour on the US site. Very misleading for US buyers. I would go with the UK site being a better reflection from what I have seen from the Swatch they have at the dealer.

The lightning blue on the US configurator looks like cool blue a convertible only colour

Nothing like any other sample of the colour.

I'm going crazy waiting for lightning blue photos! The more i wait the more i second guess all the options etc and if the MINI was the right choice.

Another mock up picture, this time a lot closer to my ordered cooper spec but still need the real thing or pictures of it

I've done so many now it will be interesting to see how close it is to life when i get my car

Well I've seen a Lightening Blue S out and about on the roads in Oxfordshire and believe me its a fantastic looking colour.

Will be worth the wait.
