Hey, has anyone tried purchasing the side skirts alone from the new R56 JCW kit?? On my 2003 mini cooper i got the side skirts fitted and sprayed by a dealer for £490 (retail price). Just had a quote from a couple dealers for my new R56 MCS and they were well over £700. Being that the whole kit as a package is practically no different in price I just dont understand it!?!? Particularly as the side skirts are the one thing thats practically no different from the old JCW kit. The dealer also reckoned the side skirts can ONLY be ordered primed and NOT sprayed, which sounds stupid being that you can order the whole kit sprayed and the old kit and old side skirts could be orderd sprayed too. Any answers or suggestions??

Hi my mini is due into the dealers next week and yesterday i phoned to enquire about the cost of supplying & fitting side skirts.

To my suprise they quoted me £260.00 fitted + VAT im hoping this is correct because i went ahead and ordered them!!

The minis look much better with them!!!

I also read on here someone had them fitted for £360.00 so i thing i got a good deal

Your dealer is way over the top!

Thanks, Ive phoned twice now yesterday and confirmed the price with parts and this morning with the salesman.

So i thing i will leave it now and hope they will honor the price quoted!

There is a delay for the pre painted kits, so that could be something to do with it. Primed kits are available.

My dealer matched the Woodmans price for a primed kit fitted. I think a quote of £700 for the skirts is bit much!


Not sure about the old one, but the new kit is called the JCW Aerokit, hence why it is in the JCW brochure and includes JCW sill plates.

why don't you try calling Woodmans, listed in the sponsors directory, they give discount to all MINI2 privilege members

No-one seems too be paying anywhere near what youve been quoted.

I dont know if my dealer has got it wrong but hopefully they will honor that price as they quoted it !!!

If dealing with Williams I use Rochdale, and speak to Joe, he will give you a good price too if you tell him Martin sent you from MINI2

My dealer reckons they are soooo expensive as the new model side skirts can no longer be ordered painted, only primed. therefore having to pay bmw money for paint and installation. Does anyone know if this is actually true, as the old skirts could be ordered painted.

at present aero kits out of stock painted, so its partly true, but give it time and these will be freely available painted

That is partly true, in that Aero Side Skirts have never officially been offered as a stand-alone accessory, but were available to order separately as a replacement part as they are sometimes needed individually (by Bodyshops repairing a side-on crash, for example) so, as Rakey has already stated, I am sure they will be available to order sometime soon.

Once the current issue with painted kits is resolved, I can't see the side skirts being any more expensive than on the previous model. the alternative is to go with the primed ones and get a cheaper Bodyshop to paint and fit them.

Have just spoken to D.Woodmans and painted side skirts are not available on the R56 full stop, just primed. They become available painted in the future, however. The price for the skirts WITHOUT painting and fitting is £360 and that was their best price. Woodmans are very competitive so all of you out there with quotes of anything less than about £450-£500 from dealers i'm afraid to say must have been miss informed or have quoted you for the old model skirts.

Well Woodmans will do the complete kit fitted for just under £1k....My dealer matched this before the delays started. My kit is now sitting at the dealers waiting for my car , may try for a bit more off cos of the delay!
