Offline | Laser Blue/ Black Aero Kit I am having a re-think about a couple of things, some nice person has driven into the back of my MCS and scrapped the rear bumper and is going to cost me £450 at an independent place or £700 at a MINI dealer to have repaired. I was also planning to have the Spot Lamps and JCW Steering Wheel fitted which was going to cost about £550 altogether. I am now wondering whether to forget the Lights and Wheel and not have the repair done, and have the Aero Kit fitted instead. Does anyone know what it will cost and how long it takes to have this done? My car is booked into Woodmans on the 15th, they said they need it for about 5 hours, would that be long enough to do the kit instead? Also does anyone have any pictures of a Laser Blue with Black Roof and the Aero Kit? I think it could look wicked. Thanks in advance guys!! ![]() |

Offline | Yeah I would, but my car was parked at the time and they just drove off, I don't know exactly when it happened. Don't want to claim on my insurance as we only have 2 years no clams and I only passed my test in June!!!! It's a very frustrating situation. I'm sure you now all about that though, sorry to read about our troubles. |

Offline | I'm not sure I would color code unless I had a white roo. I think having a black roof and stripes would make the black trim on the kit tie in really well. Thats a good price, not sure I would fit it myself though as the extent of my DIY abilities is changing bulbs! ![]() |

Offline | Is it just that the bumper is cracked so it just needs a replacement bumper or is there more substantial damage? Its a perfect excuse to get the aero kit fitted if you were thinking about it in the first place though! I say go for it if you want it. I try to see these things in a positive light. Bugger someones damaged my bumper. Well now I have a reason to replace the kit with the aero! Do it! |

Offline | The bumper is cracked, so to make it perfect again will require a new one, and the wheel arch trim also needs replacing. But when a MINI dealer quote £700 to have this done, it makes the Aero Kit seem a sensible option. Does anyone know what the cost is of having this painted and fitted? |

Offline | djtex, im guessing you are fairly young if you have only past recently, in that case i'd check out your insurance companies view on having the aerokit fitted, because i can't even find anyone to insure me with sideskirts let alone with the aero kit. most insurance companies say they will not insure anyone under the age of 25 with modifications. if it's your own insurance policy then try A.flux as they are the only people i could get a quote out of, though it was extortionate (i'm 21 soon to be 22 btw) |

Offline | I am actually 31 so not too worried about insurance prices. And yes, I did leave learning to drive rather late in life. Wish I had done it years ago now, but I'm enjoying catching up on all the time I lost. |

Offline | How good our Woodmans???? My car is scheduled as I said in a previous post to have lights and steering wheel done next week. I had been thinking about having the Aero Kit instead of wheel and lights as the back of my car has been damaged by someone. However, apparently there is a problem with getting hold of painted Aero Kits at the moment, the guy has suggested instead that he can let me have the back bumper of another Laser Blue car they have already fitted an Aero Kit to. So now I get to have my steering wheel and lights as planned, but am having my car repaired for £250!!!! Why can't all dealer be as good as Woodmans, I just wish I lived nearer. Top drawer service and they will even go the extra mile to find alternative solutions for you. Brilliant!!! Popey - If your reading this it may be your old back bumper I'm having, cheers!!! |

![]() Extra 3 Inches | This does sound like excellent service when you first read it, but remember that the bumper they are selling you cost them nothing at all, so it is pure profit for them... ...and technically belongs to the person (you're right, possibly Popey) that paid for them as part of the price of their car, and then paid extra for the Aero Kit (Which is why I always recommended that my customers took their original bumpers away with them if they could). Granted, as far as you're concerned they're helping you out, but they're actually making more money out of you than if you did buy the full Aero Kit. ![]() |
