Grrrrr I've had my poor MINI since Friday and already he has obtained a stone chip on his bonnet and a scrape on his trim near the bumper. I have a couple of questions:

What is the best way to get a stone chip sorted out? Can I use one of those mobile people, or does he need to go to BMW?

Re the scrape, it is on the black plastic trim on drivers side, sort of the front part of the front wheel wheelarch trim, near where it joins the bumper if you see what I mean? Some nasty person has obviously tried to pull out of their space (I have to park on the street) and they have rubbed my car in doing so

- so, is it possible to replace that bit of trim, if so how much? Or is there anything I could put on it to hide the scrape a bit?

Is the chip bad? If it is just tiny you could try touching it up yourself. Not easy but loads on advice available online. You will get others so paying someone to do one may not be worth it unless it is big.

The plastic trim bit were certainly cheap and pretty east to replace on the R50. Why not drop by your dealer and ask for their advice. The should be able to find a drawing which shows how they fit.

you have reassured me actually because I was pretty gutted to find that scrape on the trim.

The chip isn't that big, so maybe I will wait till I get some more then have them all done, or something

will have a look online about touching it up myself though.

Just make sure that its not down to the metal if youre going to leave it otherwise it will start to go rusty.

It looks white where the chip is, don't think its down to the metal?
