How quickly does a white roof get dirty compared with a body colour roof i.e. lightning blue? Thanks

I've had 2 white rooves on my 2002 electric blue MCS and my current 2007 chili red MCS. I have found them to stay pretty clean. Whilst the shine undoubtedly goes off a few days after a wash when it is exposed to the elements, it still looks fairly clean - just slightly dull. Unless things (debris) falls on the roof, it doesn't really get that dirty from day to day driving. I think the roof stays just as clean (if not cleaner) than the main body of the car. Go for it!!!

The white roof stays pretty clean, although the gutter areas do get a lot dirtier. TBH it's not all that noticable how dirty it gets until you clean the car. The spread of dirt is even so it just dulls the white down. It's not like road grime on the side of a car where there is a noticable change in colour, being darker at the bottom, where the most dirt is and cleaner near the top of the door.

mine is pretty clean too, but when i clean the car, the water is quite grey, thats probably dust cause i dont see it at (bright) sunshine
on the other hand, my astroblack is dirty quite fast whatever the environnemental light is!

in a personnal opinion, i really love the white roof, i promise, you wont be disapointed

Well, it WAS supposed to be delivered today...but...I had a call from the dealer yesterday to tell me that the rear parking sensors and the comfort access (keyless entry) hadn't been fitted. Needless to say, after 3 months of waiting, I was NOT a happy girly. So options were 1) Take car they delivered today, without those 2 items 2) order a new one with a delivery of towards end of July 3) refund of deposit, no car. So, I went for option 2. I knew if I took it without those 2 items, I'd always be wishing I'd waited! So, while I had the opportunity to change the order, I chose the white roof and mirror caps! A positive from a negative! My spec is:

Cooper
Lightning Blue
White Roof/Mirrors
Lounge Leather Carbon Black
Chili Pack
17" Flame Spoke
Automatic Air Con
Sat Nav
PDC
Comfort Access
MFSW
Heated Mirrors/Washerjets

I agree! A positive from a negative indeed!
Should be quite striking in LB w/white roof!
BTW, I have the dreaded R53 solid black/white wheel combo and I don't even notice the dirt on the roof compared to the soot on the rest of the car...

the lounge leather is stunning, you ll love it!
i ordered the smoker pack for the same reason as yours, you ll see, you can remove it and it becomes a cup holder

Thanks for the positive comments! Funnily enough, while I was at the dealers trying to sort out the new order, the car I SHOULD have been driving away turned up on the lorry directly opposite me in my line of sight! Nothing like rubbing it in! Oh well, we'll get there in the end!

That's so unfair, that because of their c*ck up you now have to wait again.

Keep the faith, at least when you do eventually get the car it will be even more special.

Because of the mix up have you tried to get some discount or some freebies?

The white roof will look really good, and you won't notice the dirt. Sounds like a monster spec, every mod con!

I know, but I like to polish my car and apparently you have to polish around them because they're vinyl? Can't be bothered with all that! Anyway, they can always be added at a later date, granted at a greater cost to myself!
