Has anyone fitted a Cooper S rear spoiler to a Cooper yet, and if so how much did it cost?

I've been quoted by a main dealer £185+vat for the spoiler plus another £160+vat for painting and fitting.........just wondered if this was a fair price!

Absolutely not a fair price at all.....

I fitted one to my last Cooper, paid £70 for the spoiler on Ebay it was already in the colour i needed and fitted it myself!

Check ebay they are regulary on there TBH and at a fair price aswel they go cheaper than that now aswel, and with a black roof its a common colour!

The only thing is, the cooper spoiler touches to boot all the way across and the S spoiler doesnt it has a gap in the middle, this leaves a bolt hole in the middle of the boot so what i did was get a rubber bung from B&Q and put that and in it was fine after that!

Mate. Look on eBay. I got my Cooper S spoiler from eBay, got me £10 plus £15p&p, £185+VAT, i think they are trying to pull a fast one. £160+VAT for painting?!?! That is rediculous. You could get it painted for £50 max. And fitting - it is 4 screws and some double sided tape, and take about 10 minutes.

...a bit confused...i have a cooper spoiler on already. will i have to remove that to fit the cooper s spoiler?...pics would also help

The Cooper Spoiler has to be removed to fit the Cooper S Spoiler.

I have a cooper s spoiler on my cooper (R56). Bought it off eBay think it was about £70.00

Very easy fit 3 or 4 bolts

Do you need to get additional bolts if you buy a second hand R53 spoiler or can you use the ones off your Cooper spoiler??

The cooper spoiler is held in place with 3 bolts and a glue type seal, to fit the S spoiler just remove it and fit the new S spoiler using 2 of the bolts.

The middle hole from the cooper spoiler could do with being plugged with a runnber grommit.

On the R56, no screw holes are exposed and the spoiler is held on with five bolts and no sticky tape!

R56 Cooper S mate, the fitment of the spoiler is the same though its just 5 grommits concealing 5 bolts - dead easy job

I have a 2004 cooper that doesn't have a spoiler at present... If I buy a cooper spoiler off eBay what do I do to fit it as surely there is nothing there already and the top piece of trim on the boot is all in one piece
