hi,

is it possible to install the Mini Cooper S bonnet (the one with the air entry) onto a Mini Cooper D?
I have seen various Mini Coopers (R53) with the Mini Cooper S, but i haven't seen any of the R56s with it.
Does the Cooper D, have a higher bonnet? Will the Cooper S hood fit?
Is it 'plug and play' or a bit more complicated?
Do i have to change the bumper or the grill?

I think of heard of someone who has put a MCS bonnet on a Cooper but I'm not too sure about whether it can be done on a Dooper. But I'm sure someone will be able to advise.

I think the Bonnet on the Dooper is the same as the Cooper S already (minus the Airscoop). If you look under the bonnet you can see the hole where the scoop would be. Saying that you would imagine that the bonnet on an S should be easily transferred to a D.

i thought the Diesel had a higher bonnet on it due to engine hieght. Whether it does fit or not its gonna be pricey as doubt they'll be any secon hand ones

I also thought it had, but aparantly, it is the same as the S.

There was an R56 MCS bonnet on e-bay but I haven't been on in the last couple of days so it may have sold.

I think the S has a higher bonnet than a Cooper, So makes sense it will be the same height as the D.

What he said - as I understand it, the turbo diesel engine is more or less the same size as the turbo petrol engine
