Offline | R56 Front Spots Lights Im considering these as a future mod on the new car (the car I dont get for another 4 months )How much should they be? Can you fit them yourself, or do they have to be coded? Bearing in mind I fitted (well my uncle did ) a set of Hella Spots to my old ONE with no problems, ive still got them but i guess they wont fit?For the Dooper do you have to have a different Grille? |

Offline | The front spots for the R56, or additional headlights as MINI call them, cost £182.95 . You might be able to barter with Jo, and get a little bit off that price. |

Offline | With the phrase 'its not what you know its who you know' I can get a bit of a discount I just remember reading in Auto Express about a woman ranting on about them not having any new grilles, thats how i found that bit out Didnt realise it was all models though? Another interesting money making scheme i guess! So can they be fitted as a DIY job or does the dealer actually need to do it? |

| Back in a first gen. | I'm sure that the brackets are now attached to the grilles instead of coming with the spotlight kit as before, hence having to buy a new grille that the brackets ARE attached to. Incredibly sneaky if thats the case - but is the new grille included in the price of the spots? |

| MINI2 Newbie | 'Ring' Spot Lights Does anybody know where I can get hold of the spot lights that light up in a 'ring' for the R56? I've seen them on a photo used on the MINI2 homepage a few times in the header graphic. I've looked everywhere and emailed everyone to no avail. Can you help? Thanks, Trevor ![]() |

Offline | I am think of getting a set of spots when I get my R56 Cooper, because when I was coming home from MINI in proper darkness and it was pooring down with rain the headlights are useless. I know this because we had a R56 Cooper with Spots as a courtesy car and could see quite a difference when we were on the same road with my mum's R56 Cooper without spots, and even my brother says that he was to drive up the lane to where we live with his fogs on (when nobody coming) so that he can see the curbs and road markings properly. (because of how the headlight/bulbs are designed to work.) Tom. ![]() The Orange Blob As My Avatar Is The Mascot Of JetAlliance Racing Called 'Carli'. |

Online | I fitted these myself about 6 weeks ago, the fitment of the spots is fairly straight foward, completing the wiring is a pain in the Ar$e, and once completed you do need to get them coded, my dealers charging me £40 As for the price of the spots, I got mine on ebay for £80 incl delivery, and they are genuine MINI Accessories the guy has had a few sets, so it could be worth giving him a call ![]() eBay My World - kk1311 Hope this helps Jp ![]() |

Offline | Ideally, you probably do need a new grille. However when I had mine fitted, the new grille wasn't available for the Cooper D, so the dealer modified the existing one and fitted the spot-lights to that (no problem!). So it can be done without having the extra expense of a new grille ![]() |

Offline | Thats handy to know, thanks richards! My previous MINI had Hella spots fitted (also no need for coding) by my uncle who is/was an auto electrician, so if the R56 one can be done yourself as well and no need for coding thats good news! Is there a 'how to' anywhere online?? ![]() |
