| MINI2 Regular | Can you use main & dipped beam together My non zernons are pretty marginal , I do notice that when flashing the headlights both main and dipped beam come on and the lighting is superb Can this configuration be wired by some clever relay or some such electric magic without disaster. i have been through the bulb upgrade route but the main/dipped beam on looks great Mike |

Offline | One of the unfortunate problems with the headlamps on the R56 is that they reverted to a single bulb on each side with twin filaments (as opposed to twin lamps with separate filaments); something I've not experienced since the days of driving Montegos! Twin bulbs are lit simultaneously on main beam but, on the R56, if both filaments are allowed to burn in the same bulb for any significant amount of time you should be able to measure the life time of the bulb in hours, possibly in minutes ![]() Tigger. ![]() To register your interest in The New MINI Kernow Cornish Oggy Run, Summer 2008 please click HERE and welcome to Cornwall! | MINI2 Regular | Fair enough , I will just stick to annoying folk with not so easy to dip front fogs... Now there's an idea can fr fogs be wired to on with main beam ( I know spots can , but it seems silly to not use the fogs) Not interested in the legality side of things ( my risk ) just fascinated how to inpove the dreadful main beam![]() Mike |

Offline | I have found the standard main beam more than adequate - a bright and wide beam - and i do drive a lot on unlit country roads. In fact the only problem I have is other peoples' lights being too bright. |
